今天清晨六時，王建民身穿短袖T恤、牛仔褲，與老婆小孩現身桃園機場。現場有數十名球迷守候，準備棒球、照片索取簽名，一聲聲喊著「建民加油，我們支持你」。
王建民目前是自由球員，新東家還沒有著落，他說「都是經紀公司跟球團聯絡，現在還沒有消息」。對於明年有什麼期待？王建民說「也沒有什麼期待，有球隊就打，沒有球隊可能就直接退休」。
